My SF International nut and saddle stock finally arrived from New Delhi. I placed my order on Jan 12th and it arrived today. This was a bit over $500US shipped for 50 cow oversized saddle blanks and 50 oversized nut blanks this price including the same number of blanks in camel. This is likely the last time I will need to source bone blanks. These blanks are all thicker (saddle width a la Somogyi) than most folks use, so your $500 would likely go a good bit further.

Note the BlueChip pick for scaleā€¦

Nice to see you went with them. Ya for $400 I got 200 nuts and 200 saddles standard sized. But it looks likes your are double width so makes sense.

Nice one Michael.
No problems with customs for importing animal parts?

The name catgut is confusing. There are two explanations for the mix up.

Catgut is an abbreviation of the word cattle gut. Gut strings are made from sheep or goat intestines, in the past even from horse, mule or donkey intestines.

Otherwise it could be from the word kitgut or kitstring. Kit meant fiddle, not kitten.
